Local Government…Enough Pokies Campaign

Are you concerned about inappropriate placement of electronic gaming machines?

Almost all of Victoria's 79 councils, including Knox City Council are supporters of this campaign, along with the Salvation Army and the Municipal Association of Victoria. The campaign was launched on 16 October 2014 in front of a large gathering of local government stakeholders and is rapidly gaining momentum.

Midnight Basketball Program

Midnight Basketball is a national social inclusion programme to help 'at risk' youth identify and embrace positive opportunities. Our first Midnight Basketball program is going to be happening in the city of Knox starting this February for a seven week tournament, running on Saturday nights. Dinner, compulsory life skills workshops and tournament basketball games are run in stadiums and will be on Saturday nights from 7.30pm till midnight, followed by a bus home, providing a safe and motivating environment. We don’t expect you to give up all your Saturday nights so there will be a rostered system for volunteers.
