Training
Volunteering offers a multitude of benefits beyond altruism, including the opportunity to enhance work skills and gain valuable experience.

Training for Volunteers

By volunteering, individuals can develop teamwork, communication, and leadership skills, while gaining practical experience in a real-world setting. This hands-on experience can boost confidence, expand networks, and make individuals more desirable in today’s competitive job market.

In addition to volunteer opportunities, we offer training for volunteers by connecting volunteers with community training organisations in the City of Knox.

Classes and workshops for Volunteers

Volunteer for Knox was established by the five Neighbourhood Houses in the City of Knox, collectively known as Knox Learning Alliance. They are experts in the delivery of adult education and training, providing a variety of courses and workshops lead by experienced trainers.

Training for organisations

Membership is FREE to join our bi-annual Volunteer Manager and co-ordinator network meetings. We plan our meetings with careful thought and creativity that will remain in the memories of many organisations. From Garden Parties to cinema days and a jazz fest at the Australian Jazz museum.

Volunteer for Knox also provides training specific to volunteer managers, coordinators, and leaders including workshops on promoting your non profit effectively on social media, creating flyers and promotional material with Canva and how to update your website. With five community houses and their years of training expertise we can work with you to co-design any course you feel is needed for your organisation.
